Round Canvas!

Boy oh boy has this month flown by! I have only just finished my take on the August Savvy Sketch challenge!

It was a round sketch this month, and after seeing what Nic Howard did with her July Tarisota Kit, I knew I wanted to do something similar for my wall. So imagine my delight when I came across a 12" round canvas in an art supply store! Woohoo! So this is what I came up with:

Now, I know that I have used this photo on another layout recently, but I love it so much that I wanted to use it for the wall hanging so that I can see it everyday, not just when I open my scrapbooking album! As you can see, I have used my current favourite colour combo again!

I have used:

* Basic Grey papers and stickers from the new Ambrosia Collection.
* Basic Grey rub ons
* Kaisercraft rub ons
* Kaisercraft rhinestones
* Black cardstock
* American Crafts Thickers chipboard letters (which I inked Red with Distress Inks).
* Black ink; black ZIG Writer, double sided foam mounting tape
* Ribbon

Here is a close up of the layered papers, stickers, and rub ons with added bling:

Here is a close up of the paisley motif that I have raised up of the canvas with double sided foam mounting tape, to give it some dimension:

And last but not least, here is a pic of the edge of the canvas, that I have trimmed with some black and white flower ribbon:

I just love the new Basic Grey Ambrosia range! I can see that I will be using this one a lot in the weeks to come!

Stay tuned - tomorrow is the 1st of the month, so that means an all new "Sarah's Random Challenge", and a new Inkurable Stampers challenge! Which means more eye candy from me for you!

Thanks for looking!

Sky Watch 7.

Well, I'm back again this week with another Sky Watch photo to share. Haven't had much time to work on anything creative lately, but will have some scrapbooking layouts to share over the weekend.

Here's this week's photo:

Again, it has not bee photoshopped, except the border and reduced file size for web.

It was taken on the 16th August when we are visiting the Australian War Memorial down in Canberra. Was a nice day (but coooold!) and because it's winter, Canberaa was covered in these wonderful bare branched trees, that I think look really interesting! So as I was walking down the path outside, I looked up and saw the clouds through the branches, and decided to snap a pic.

Thanks for looking!

Sky Watch 6.

I have come across this cool photography blog called "Sky Watch Friday" where participants post links to their photos which include sky. There are new links from participants every week for you to check out!

This is the first time that I have joined in, and here is my effort (click to enlarge):

This photo was taken last week while I was in Canberra. We had just arrived and were driving though the city to get to our hotel. We had stopped at a set of traffic lights, and I looked out of my window and saw the moon shining through that tree, and said to hubby "Wow! That would make a great photo"! So he convinced me to get my camera out and snap the shot - just as the lights went green and we started to drive off! LOL!

And that's exactly how the photo turned out - I haven't edited it in photoshop, other than to add the border and reduce the file size for the web. Pretty cool, huh?!

This is also my example for Renee D's August Photo Challenge - to capture a silhouette.

Thanks for looking! :) Please leave me a comment if you stopped by to check it out!

Darkroom Door ATC's.

Rachel Greig is currently hosting an ATC swap using her Darkroom Door stamps, and well, of course I just had to join in! LOL!

These are the ones I made for the swap:

Was feeling very "Inkurable" when I made these ones! LOL! *wink*.

I have used Darkroom Door Stamps from the "Little Dreams" and "Wildflower" sets, as well as Tim Holtz distress inks, Ranger Inkessentials white opaque pen, bazzill cardstock, Adirondack ink, and Kasiercraft Rhinestones.

Here is a close up:

I have totally been bitten by the ATC bug, so you will be seeing more of these little pieces of artwork from me in the future! :) In fact, as soon as I stop blogging, I am off to make some more for another swap that I am doing, and I can't wait because I will be using a cool new stamp! Stay tuned! :)

Blog Award!

My lovely friend and fellow Scrapbook Savvy Design Team member, Renee Dowling, has given me a blog award!

Here's what I have to do:

1. The winner can put the logo on her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls you’ve nominated.

Well, even though Renee gave me the award, I'm totally going to give her one as well, because her work is amazing! She is rocking the Aussie Scrap Source blog challenges at the moment, and is my hot pick for becoming one of this year's Scrapbooking Memories Masters! Check out her amazing work on her blog.

OK, so that leaves 6 more people to nominate. So here they are:

* Rachel Greig - The first blog I ever read! Rachel rocks. You all know what a big Rachel fan I am! LOL! I'd just be repeating myself if I told you how fabulous her work is. :) This is a two in one, because I also love her Darkroom Door blog. Awesome stuff!
* Wendy Vecchi - amazing stuff from an amazingly talented woman.
* Kelsey O'Mullane - This lady is awesome! No end to her talent! You simply must check out her ATC's. Totally wish she lived in Sydney.
* Nic Howard - My favourite scrapper of all time! Absolute scrapbooking legend.
* Julie Heard - current SM Master, fellow SS DT member, and all round awesome chick! Julie's layouts ROCK! She comes in a very close 2nd to Nic in my "All time favourite scrapper" list!
* Sandie Mallon - You have to check out Sandie's layouts. Just stunning! One to watch - this girl will achieve great things!

Make sure you visit all these ladies, and be blown away by their talent! :)

My Celebrity Look-alikes!

Oh this is sooo funny! I stumbled across this celebrity look alike collage creator and just had to give it a go myself:

That's so hilarious - especially the Calista Flockhart bit - I reckon I could fit 10 of her inside my jacket! LMAO!! There was one more that I left off, but was the most hilarious if not the most embarrassing one - JET LI!!! Hahaaaaaaaaaa!

You've gotta try it yourself! Leave a comment here when you've posted it on your blog, and I'll come and have a look! :)

Tarisota Time!

This month, to celebrate their new sponsorship of Inkurable Stampers, I was lucky enough to be a special guest designer with Tarisota!

I got to play with the August Inklination Collection, which is this set of stamps by Making Memories:
For details on purchasing this collection, please see the Limited Editions section of Tarisota.

The August Tarisota Gallery is now up for viewing! And what a gallery! So bright and funky, with lots of awesome creations! Here is a sneak peek of one of mine:

It's an origami box that I made using papers from the Rose Moka range (available here from Scrapbook Savvy, but also included in the August "Obsession" Kit from Tarisota). You can see the rest of my projects in the Tarisota Gallery.

It is such a thrill and an honour to have my work displayed amongst the work of the talented ladies on the Tarisota Design Team! I can't tell you how excited I was when I was asked!

Well, that's it from me for now! I'll be back later on to share some more stuff I did during the Savvy Cybercrop that was held this weekend.

It's all about Flowers!

This month's theme at Inkurable Stampers (my stamping challenge blog) is FLOWERS!

The task this month is to create something using flower stamps, and at least 1 other kind of stamp - like a background stamp or a word stamp for example.

Here is my example:

I am a big fan of Wendy Vecchi, and it was her gorgeous work with grungeboard and stamps that inspired this card!

Here is a close up:

There is a full run down of the stamps and products I used on the original challenge post at Inkurable, so be sure to check it out! There is also a heap more photos of my card on their too.

This month, I am excited to welcome Tarisota as a new permanent sponsor of the blog!

Also, on of my favourite artists at the moment, Kelsey O'Mullane, is our guest sponsor for August. Check out this post to see the list of fabbo prizes up for grabs this month!

Entries must be in by midnight 31st August 2008 - see website for entry details.

Whilst making the card above, I also made an ATC:

Not really sure if I like it or not. You be the judge! If anyone wants to do a swap with me, let me know!
