Wilderness Cards

Earlier this year I created a bunch of projects using Darkroom Door products for their booth at the SIA trade show. As yet, I haven't shown many of the projects here on my blog, and when I saw Rachel's Wilderness Collection cards, it reminded me to show the ones I made using the Wilderness Montage sheet.

So here they are:

The base cards are Bazzill cardstock, and I used patterned paper by Rose Moka. The Wilderness images were cut out, and mounted to the card fronts on top of a mat of hessian. The arrows on each card are Grungeboard which I inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain. Here is an individual pic of each card:

For the background of the "Bon Voyage" card above, I over stamped the patterned paper with the splatter stamp from the DD Artist stamp set using brown ink.

The word were all stamped using the DD Alphabet Medley stamp set - I just LOVE that set! Not only because of the great font,but because you get 2 different sizes of alphas in the one set - great value for money!

The brads were attached to the patterned paper before I adhered it to the card front - this ensures that you don't have the ugly back of the brads visible when you open the card. :)

Thanks for looking! Please leave me a comment to let me know you stopped by today! :)

I'm Baaaaaaaack!

Oh my gosh I can't believe it's been 7 months since I last posted here! Naughty naughty!

I've been having a bit of a break from blogging here as most of what I've been up to is shown over at Inkurable Stampers (which keeps me very busy!), so I haven't really had much to share here. I have been doing lots of bits and pieces here and there, like ATC's, cards, and some mixed media stuff, but haven't been doing anywhere near as much scrapbooking as I used to. This year I've done only 5 layouts! Only 2 of them were 12x12! My how things change over time.

But that is about to change!

My first big news is that I have gained a teaching position at Erina Scrapbook Store! My classes start in January, and I have lots of exciting and fun things planned! So if you live on or near the Central Coast, keep an eye out for my classes and come along and join in on the fun! They won't be just scrapbooking classes either - I'll be teaching a whole range of projects and techniques! I can't wait!

But the biggest news of all, probably the most exciting news of my whole crafting life, is the announcement today of the new DARKROOM DOOR CREATIVE TEAM!!

Why is this so exciting you ask? Because my little name is on the list!! WAHOOOOOOOOO!

I am very pleased to announce that I have been chosen as one of the members of the new Darkroom Door Creative Team! I am very honoured and excited to have my name up in lights with my ultra-talented team members:

* Jill Geraghty-Groves
* Godelieve Tijskens
* Michelle Loffler
* Melissa Phillips
and of course
* Rachel Greig

To have my name even spoken in the same sentence as these ladies is awesome enough, let alone to be on the same team as them! I am so excited to see what we all have in store for you, and I hope you are to!

To celebrate the new creative team, we're having a giveaway! But first I'd like to share with you some Darkroom Door projects that I did earlier this year that I haven't yet shared online. I did these three simple 8.5"x11" scrapbook layouts for the Darkroom Door stand at the SIA trade show (click to enlarge):
